So, now you’ve become a lean, mean playerkiller, ready to show yourself to the world. You just feel like yelling “I passed the Run!” Don’t. Showing your newfound PK status would attract playerkillers like flies to food.
Have a decent amount of health, and avoid PK heavy areas (outside the Thieves’ Guild, Filigree Street, Ohulan Cutash, and such.) Although this advice should not be taken extremely, like completely avoiding Filigree Street. Yes, the chances of getting PKed there are high, but if you walk fast, or even normally, most PKs will not go after you, unless they have a vendetta on you or are after something particularly shiny about your person. Throughout my Discworld playing I have only been PKed on Filigree Street number 8, 3 of which were intentional during a certain fundraiser as a house activity (Kill a Raven for only 5 dollars apiece, with your very own free skull!), and only robbed thrice. I use Filigree Street semi-regularly, albeit at a run. Don’t idle outside the Guild, as you would be a sitting duck for PKs and feefs who pass by, and would help themselves o your life or valuables respectively. Do note that feefs can take anything they want from you outside AM without a receipt, and that some feefs are happy to sell you the stuff they stole from you at a price. Also, don’t always think that attacks are intentional. Some of the fights where I was attacked by someone I hardly knew were playful, and these people became sparring buddies and friends as time went by. Peaceful solutions are always the best.
Remember, there is nobody to blame if some PK comes, kills you and takes all your stuff. Although some instances of this are illegal in certain cities, such as corpse dragging, you have nobody to blame. Sometimes the Disc seems like hell, with PKs out to get you all the time. Don’t instigate anybody who can make your life hell. If they do, just ride it out. I’ve known too many friends who left the Disc because of some bastard who decided that they were someone nice to bully, and found it fun. I’ve also saved a few, but too little compared to the ones I haven’t.
Just remember, when you are PK, someone WILL make your life hell, someone WILL kill you, someone WILL take your stuff. Watch yourself out there.
