Being the best educational institute in Ankh-Mopork doesn’t just mean teaching our members to kill. We have special courses catered specially for our members.
Should you complete a course, you will be given an extra title behind your name, showing you are qualified in the area. For example, should you clear the Master of Assassination course, your title would look like:
<insert name here> the <insert title here> of <insert house here>, MA, <insert other titles here>
Be warned, you can only clear a maximum of 3 Master courses, and 1 Doctor course, so choose wisely.
Each course consists of different things. It is really based on your preference. The list below, with all the course information, will help you make your choice.
Enrolling in a course will cost 2000 AM dollars, a hefty sum. Be sure you can commit to the course before enrolling. You can apply with the secretary in the administration building.
Each course consists of 10 or so lectures, and there is a certain amount of attendance required for you to clear the course, normally 9 or 10 lectures. Lectures take place in the lecture theatre, adjacent to the teacher’s lounge. You can check the timing on the lecture timetables in the administration building and in the lecture theatre. Should there be no participants at the stipulated time, the lecturer will not turn up, so please be punctual. In order to be counted as taking part in a lecture, you must be there from the start to the end. There is also a practical assignment you must complete, which varies from course to course. Some require a essay, while some require you to take a practical test in some part of the Guild. Last of all is the final examination, where you have to complete the earlier two components to take part. You can take your exam in the examination room, with Dr Follett. Should you pass the test, you will be presented your certificate, in a shiny frame, and get your title.
You can only participate in the Doctor courses if you are above GL 300, and have completed an appropriate course that allows you to take part in the Doctor course. For example, the Doctor of Inhumation requires you to complete at least Master of Assassination or Master of Physical Education.
The people who create all these courses are the wonderful Professors. They write the courses, create the practical assignments, and mark the assignments (where applicable).
